Hotels located within municipalities having a financial partnership with the Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau receive the following benefits:

Hotels are actively included in the CVB’s direct sales marketing program

  • Provide over 200 sales leads for business opportunities, including state, regional, national and international association meetings
  • Participation in CVB sales blitz programs (e.g., sales trips, telemarketing, direct mail programs)
  • Provide clients with financial incentives to entice groups to come to the Southland region
  • Offer access to the online reservation system (ARES) via the CVB website
  • Participation in CVB sponsored site inspections and familiarization tours

Hotels are publicized through various CVB programs

  • Exposure in the marketplace through 20+ industry trade shows targeting the meeting, sports and group tour markets
  • Informational profiles of hotel properties, meeting spaces, and amenities are included in the CVB’s sales database for easy and efficient referrals
  • Market and attract meetings, conventions, group tours, family reunions, sports events and programs, and special events
  • Promote hotel holiday packages and specials
  • Offer convention servicing to booked business at Chicago Southland hotels to assist them with media kits and lists, press releases, welcome letters, maps, brochures, name badges, banners, housing assistance and an array of other services

Hotels are included in a series of informational sales publications

  • Complete profile in the CVB’s Meeting Planners and Sports Venue Guides and Group Tour online guide describing property information like floor plans, measurements of meeting rooms, amenities and photographs
  • Listing of the hotels in the CVB’s annual Visitors Guide which is designed to attract visitors to the Chicago Southland area. The listing includes the name, address, phone number, fax number, number of rooms, a logo and amenity symbols for the hotel (distribution: 125,000)
  • Inclusion of venues, including community centers, into the Sports Venue Guide which is distributed to Events Rights Holders for future tournaments and events
  • Hotels are keyed on the map located in the CVB’s Visitors Guide
  • Hotels are listed and keyed in the CVB’s Travelers Map
  • Listed in other specialty brochures when applicable (e.g., Festival & Events Guide)
  • Eligible to advertise in CVB publications

  • Access to cooperative promotional programs including cooperative advertising programs and general exposure in CVB advertisements in regional, consumer, trade publications
  • Inclusion in the Information Centers Kiosk System and Personal Travel Counseling System
  • Exposure through the CVB’s E-Newsletter
  • Coverage in the “Chicago Southland Scoop,” the CVB’s newsletter, with such items of interest as personnel changes, property renovations, expansions, award recognitions and booking large groups
  • Exposure through the CVB Google AdWords program
  • Eligible to be included in CVB promotional multimedia and video productions
  • Access to monthly mailbag program to over 1,100 businesses, municipalities and CVB members
  • Distribution of brochure through multiple outlets, including the Visitor Information Center, Airports, Hotels, Bureau Offices, etc.

The Chicago Southland CVB will:
Act as a liaison to your organization’s meeting or event planner
Work with the meeting or event planner to discuss the group’s needs
Provide numerous hotel room rates and availability
Assemble customized bids and offer formal presentations
Assist with registration and provide your meeting or event with name badges and banners
Provide your attendees with area information, including visitors guides and maps of the region prior to the event
