Kids will have fun participating in train crafts, decoding Hobo symbols and story time with Homewood's favorite train conductor. Rail fans will have the opportunity to meet with vendors to purchase one-of-a-kind collections of antique trains, model trains, train memorabilia and items associated with model railways.

Keep your kids safe this summer and get your free Kids ID cards and have some family fun at an Illinois Tollway K.I.S.S. event. At K.I.S.S. events, specially trained professionals take photographs and fingerprints of children 3 and older and gather vital information to include on ID cards that parents and caregivers can reference in an emergency (Neither Illinois State Police nor the Illinois Tollway keep this information in a database. Once the ID card is issued to the guardian, the information is deleted). Also, certified child passenger safety technicians check child safety seats and assist with proper installation.

Last year the exhibit, "Abraham Lincoln: Self Made in America" came to the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis. The traveling exhibit was created by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth. The exhibit features eight kiosks and covers Lincoln's childhood, the Lincoln-Douglas debates, the 1860 Presidential election, the Civil War, the 4th Amendment and Emancipation Proclamation, his assassination and other important periods and events in his life. This is a temporary exhibit, so don't miss the opportunity to learn about a famous part of America's history!
