Mystery Tour with Seecago Tours

9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.: Thornton Quarry - Thornton
"The Grand Canyon of the South Suburbs", the Thornton Quarry, is the remains of the bottom of a salt-water sea, which covered much of the western part of North America over 4000 million years ago. Today it is the largest commercial limestone quarry in the world. As your group looks out over the quarry, at the quarry overlook, a narrative recording describes the history and limestone blasting process.
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Historical Drive Bys
Listen as Ted Golat, narrator for the mystery tour, takes you past many historical places of interest, including but not limited to the Ford Airport Hanger, Park Forest - America's First Complete Planned Community, and Illinois' First African-American Cemetery.
12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.: Senese's Winery Restaurant Restaurant & Barrel of Laughs Comedy Club - Oak Lawn
Your group will enjoy a home-cooked, family-style meal. After lunch, be ready to laugh at the Barrel of Laughs Comedy Club. A special show, just for your group, is sure to entertain even the solemnest of people. Shows can be tailored to the discerning tastes of the mature adult. Approximate drive time: 30 minutes
3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Pullman Historic District - South Chicago
Employer of the Pullman Porters, George Pullman created the landmark Pullman Historic District, an 1880s model industrial town. After exploring the Historic Pullman Visitor Center and watching the 20-minute video, guided tours of the District are available. The Historic District includes a Clock Tower and Factory Complex, Hotel Florence, Arcade Park, Greenstone Church, Market Hall, Pullman Stables, Community Center and the Pullman School. Approximate drive time: 30 minutes
5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.: Chicago Gaelic Park - Oak Forest
A trio platter of Irish food completes the ambiance of this authentic Irish Pub. Nestled among 50 acres of serene woodland, Chicago Gaelic Park is home to Irish Fest on Memorial Weekend, Irish football and artwork by Mary McSweeney.
