Located in Oak Forest, Chicago Southland’s Gaelic Park is a popular venue for social and sporting events. Filled with Irish charm, the venue welcomes guests throughout the year with a schedule of community events and availability to also host private functions. Known as one of the area’s premier venues for weddings and social events for over 30 years, Gaelic Park has three banquet halls with the flexibility to host weddings, proms, business luncheons and more.

 

At 8,500-sq.-ft., the Emerald Room can accommodate up to 550 people and can be divided into breakout rooms for smaller groups. The Tara Room can accommodate up to 300 people with 8,100-sq.-ft. The Celtic Room is ideal for business luncheons since it can hold up to 120 people. The venue’s pergola and covered patio, adjacent to the Tara Room, allow for outdoor dining and reception areas.

The on-site Carraig Pub serves both traditional Irish and contemporary dishes along with numerous imported beers on tap including Guinness. Visitors can also enjoy live music like traditional Irish tunes and other songs. This popular pub welcomes visitors to experience true Irish hospitality right here in Chicago Southland.

 

The Chicago Gaelic Park is conveniently located near Interstate 80 and the I-294 tollway. Located on 147th Street in Oak Forest, the park has ample parking for attendees.

 

A Look at Popular Events

In addition to great social events, Chicago Gaelic Park is home to some of the area’s top sporting events and outdoor festivals, too.

 

US Lacrosse will host a series of National Team Player Performance Camps for 2018 with the first event taking place at Chicago Gaelic Park July 28-29. “The campers are going to be exposed to high level training with the best players and coaches in the world,” said Melissa Coyne, director of the National Team Development Program (NTDP). The camps give boys’ and girls’ lacrosse players aged 8-18, the opportunity to experience the same training utilized for the national teams.

 

NXL Paintball Midwest Open at Gaelic ParkThe 2018 National X-Ball League Midwest Championship returns to Chicago Gaelic Park Sept. 14-16 with over 200 paintball teams competing for the top prize. Players include some of the Midwest’s best professional paintball players as well as international players too.

The three-day event returns to the park using the outdoor spaces for the tournament, but also including a variety of activities for spectators like hands-on demonstrations, volleyball tournaments, cornhole games and more.

 

Chicago Gaelic Park is also home to one of the area’s largest festivals the Chicago Irish Fest, which takes place every Memorial Day weekend. With five stages and 40 scheduled performing groups, the event features an Irish step dancing competition, carnival rides, food, and arts and crafts.Gaelic Park Irish Fest
