Enjoy Amazing Asian Fusion at this Longstanding Tinley Park Restaurant: Siam Marina
By Carrie Steinweg published May 10, 2023
For close to three decades Chef Tammy Pham has been bringing the best of modern Thai cuisine to the Chicago Southland. Each time I have visited I’ve been even more impressed. The Asian fusion menu has something for everyone.
There’s plenty of options for a casual weekday lunch. A number of salads are fresh and colorful, including the Siam Marina Salad of mixed spring greens, sautéed asparagus, balsamic vinegar, Parmesan cheese and peanut sauce; the Green Mango salad, which is a traditional Vietnamese salad with sautéed shrimp, green mango and cilantro in a spiced mango lime dressing; and the Shaking Beef, made with sautéed beef tenderloin, served on a bed of mixed spring greens, mango and tomato tossed with a garlic-soy vinaigrette. You can’t go wrong with any of the salads, each a burst of flavor and color. Several savory soups, curries, stir fry dishes, noodle bowls and fried rice dishes can also be found on the lunch menu.
The dinner menu is largely expanded with the addition of several crispy and cold rolls, a long list of appetizers - from green beans tempura to shrimp skewers to fish cakes to calamari and much more. A large variety of soups, salads, curry and stir fry dishes can also be found on the menu. Two of the delicious featured curries are a Seafood Panang and Thai Banana Duck. Lamb chops are a favorite that I highly recommend.
Don’t even think about skipping dessert - an electric mix of options from Truffle Chocolate Eggs Rolls and Vanilla Cheesecake to Cinnamon Cranberry & Raisin Bread Pudding and Tiramisu. No matter how full you are when dessert time comes, you have to try the signature dessert, Hummingbird Cake. Get it to go if you have to, but be sure to try it!
The decor is sleek and modern and there’s a sizable wine and cocktail menu to enjoy. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for announcements of fun special events, like martini tastings, wine pairing dinners, live entertainment and more.
Also, Chef Tammy has bottled her famous Sassy Sweet & Sour Sauce and it’s available for purchase. It is my absolute favorite sauce for making stir-fry at home. For more information, visit siammarina.com.
