Going to a Major League Baseball Home Opener should be on every baseball fan’s bucket list. Join the Chicago White Sox on Opening Day Weekend as they kick start the 2016 season against rivals Cleveland Indians! The National Anthem will be sung by John Rzeznik, the lead singer for the Goo Goo Dolls. The ceremonial first pitch will come from Chance the Rapper, who grew up on the South Side of Chicago at 79th and Princeton, and became the first independent recording artist to perform on Saturday Night Live in December 2015, when he debuted his song "Somewhere in Paradise." All fans over the age 21 will receive a 2016 magnetic schedule on Friday. The first 20,000 fans on Saturday will receive a White Sox Winter Hat. South Side Native and NFL linebacker Darius Fleming will throw out Saturday's first pitch and National recording artist and former contestant on "The Voice" Joshua Davis will perform a pregame Rock the Sox acoustic performance. Sunday is Family Fun Sunday with fun family activities for everyone to enjoy.

Last year the exhibit, "Abraham Lincoln: Self Made in America" came to the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis. The traveling exhibit was created by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth. The exhibit features eight kiosks and covers Lincoln's childhood, the Lincoln-Douglas debates, the 1860 Presidential election, the Civil War, the 4th Amendment and Emancipation Proclamation, his assassination and other important periods and events in his life. This is a temporary exhibit, so don't miss the opportunity to learn about a famous part of America's history!
