Bring a cooler filled with snacks and beverages, and blankets and lawn chairs for seating in the preserve. Insect repellent is recommended.

Swim, float, splash and have a relaxing evening while watching “Minions” on the big screen. The concession stand will be open serving all your movie favorites. Children must be at least 12 years old to be left unattended. The movie begins at sundown. Flotation devices will be allowed in the zero depth pool, so make sure to bring your favorite floatie. The pool is staying open late (10PM) to let you and your family enjoy a cool show on a hot summer night!

ABRAHAM LINCOLN: SELF MADE IN AMERICA

Last year the exhibit, "Abraham Lincoln: Self Made in America" came to the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis. The traveling exhibit was created by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth. The exhibit features eight kiosks and covers Lincoln's childhood, the Lincoln-Douglas debates, the 1860 Presidential election, the Civil War, the 4th Amendment and Emancipation Proclamation, his assassination and other important periods and events in his life. This is a temporary exhibit, so don't miss the opportunity to learn about a famous part of America's history!

Saturday is a big game celebrating "The King"! You won't want to miss Elvis Night featuring a pre-game concert at 4:30 pm by John Elvis Lyons. Standard Bank will also be giving out an Elvis themed item to the first 1,000 fans! It's also Church night, where all places of faith can get $5 advance tickets to this game. After every Sunday game the ThunderBolts will sign autographs and all fans are allowed on to the field to play catch in the outfield. As always kids run the bases after every non-fireworks home game sponsored by Andy’s Frozen Custard.
