Learn about hummingbirds and see them at close range. Hummingbirds will be captured and banded by an Illinois licensed avian ecologist and bird expert. Participants will have an opportunity to adopt a hummingbird by donating $5 to the Lincoln Land Association of Bird Banders. The program may include a short hike on preserve trails over uneven terrain.

No anglers, you’re not dreaming, we are keeping the gates open until midnight for a nighttime fishing opportunity. Fish are often more active at night when the waters are cooler. So let the kids stay up late and bring the family out to enjoy fishing under the stars. The parking lot is well lit and the shoreline is accessible; however, anglers are encouraged to bring a flashlight and bug repellant. The concessions building will be open. Shoreline fishing is accessible for participants. All ages. Free

Last year the exhibit, "Abraham Lincoln: Self Made in America" came to the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis. The traveling exhibit was created by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth. The exhibit features eight kiosks and covers Lincoln's childhood, the Lincoln-Douglas debates, the 1860 Presidential election, the Civil War, the 4th Amendment and Emancipation Proclamation, his assassination and other important periods and events in his life. This is a temporary exhibit, so don't miss the opportunity to learn about a famous part of America's history!

Let's Go! Go! Go! White Sox! Super Hero Night at U.S. Cellular Field will be held on Friday, August 19th. Throw on the capes and masks as you root for the Sox. Watch out for The Hulk at the beginning as Lou Ferrigno will throw out the cermonial first pitch. Stop by the Super Hero Night Party Shop in Section 159 until the middle of the third inning to purchase and customize your own super hero cape and other party gear. Super Hereos from Wizard World Comic Con will be roaming around the park throughout the game, so be sure to grab a picture. The first 20,000 fans on Saturday receive a pair of White Sox socks. Sunday is Family Day with balloonist, caricature artists, face painting and more.
