Family Fun For All
No matter the size of the family or the ages of the kids, the Chicago Southland has a lot to offer those seeking out an opportunity for family fun. Want to ride go-karts? We’ve got that. Miniature golf? Check. Arcades? Yep. Hands-on children museum? Absolutely.
Haunted Trails Family Amusement Park in Burbank features rides, games, award-winning miniature golf, go-karts and batting cages. Its Joliet location also has laser tag. Tinley Junction Miniature Golf and Batting Cages in Tinley Park includes an 18-hole mini-golf course with a garden railroad theme.
Odyssey Fun World in Tinley Park has plenty of indoor and outdoor fun with an arcade, laser tag, soft play land, batting cages, go-karts and with the added fun of an inflatable park and bumper boats. During the fall season the Odyssey Fun Farm becomes an Autumn paradise with hay rides, petting zoo, pig races, a corn maze, zombie safari hay ride, zip lines and more.
In The Game at Hollywood Park Family Fun Center in Crestwood, you’ll find more fun activities in this venue decorated with Hollywood memorabilia - go-kart track, indoor laser maze, indoor bumper cars, arcade games and rock wall. Dave & Buster's in Orland Park has the kids and adults covered with arcade games and big screens for catching the big games.
There’s educational play at every turn at the Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn where kids can explore exhibits such as “Build It,” where they can use real tools, “Nanoscale: The Science of Small,” which promotes STEM learning by studying particles and the “Moo Cafe” where kids can serve up mock meals and milk Clarabelle, the official museum cow.
Not far outside the Chicago Southland is Brookfield Zoo. You’ll see lions and tigers and bears oh, my…and elephants and polars bears and gators and so much more. Plan a day to visit the many species of animals in the Australia House, Living Coast, Fragile Desert, Tropic World or other exhibit spaces. You can even incorporate giraffe feeding and penguin encounters into your outing.
