The event will be formatted for family fun and will include The Great 8K Race on June 29th, entertainment for families, and a trackless train. The grant from the Chicago Southland CVB will cover a portion of the cost to advertise this event on Radio Disney, reaching families across the Chicagoland area and beyond.

The CVBs Local Tourism Matching Grant Program is a great way to maximize our marketing reach to benefit the region, said Jim Garrett, CDME, President/CEO, Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau. Matteson Family Days is a great example of the many festivals and events here in the Chicago Southland.

The Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau developed the Local Tourism Marketing Grant program in 1991, and since the programs inception has awarded over $880,000 in grants to assist not-for-profits and municipalities in promoting their events and attractions. Annually, the Bureau can award up to $46,000 in five grant cycles.
