Jeff Molander, CEO of Molander & Associates, delivered the morning keynote on generating leads and sales using social media efficiently. Morning Breakout sessions were then held regarding using internet marketing, leveraging Twitter, Constant Contact, and mobile web, apps, and technology.

J.D. Gershbein, CEO of Owlish Communications, presented the keynote on optimizing and monetizing profiles on the LinkedIn network. The afternoon breakout sessions included use of engagement marketing, strategic approaches to Facebook, using LinkedIn for networking, and a case study of the importance of social media at Fair Oaks Farms in Northwest Indiana.

I had a vague idea of social networking but (the Social Media Summit) gave me definitive ways of using it, said Greg Lochow, executive Director of the Blue Island Chamber of Commerce. In one day, I got a months worth of education.

Kari Miller of the Batavia Park District won a Kindle Fire during a contest held by Jim Rudny of J Rudny - Dynamic Web Solutions after she gave the best idea for using emerging mobile technology in taxis during his morning breakout session.

I think all the attendees walked away from the event with a great deal of knowledge about social media, said Jim Garrett, President/CEO, Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau, and hopefully they were able to make good connections to grow their business.
