Get Egg-Cited for Easter!

Easter is Sunday, April 4! Don’t miss out on any of the fun happening throughout the Chicago Southland. Many local restaurants are offering dine-in and catering packages to take the hassle out of Easter dinner. Plus, there are an abundance of events taking place that are perfect for the whole family! Have a “Hoppy” Easter!

 

Get dinner catered for you and your “peeps”

Let Chuck’s Southern Comforts Cafe in Burbank do the cooking for you! This year’s Easter catering package will be available for delivery or curbside pick-up. For $15.99 per person, the whole family can enjoy smoked ham with pineapple glaze, smoked chicken, pulled pork, mac and cheese, smashed red potatoes with gravy and roasted veggies. Each package also includes mini buns, pineapple glaze and barbecue sauce. Please note that packages must be ordered in increments of five. Please call 708-229-8700 to place your catering order!

Georgios Banquets, Quality Inn & Suites Conference Center in Orland Park/Orland Hills will be serving Easter dinner to go. Each package serves 8-10 people. Packages can be customized to include your favorites, with options like herb-roasted beef prime rib, boneless leg of lamb, smoked honey-glazed spiral ham, whole roasted turkey or Grecian chicken breasts. Each entrée is served with five sides and your choice of dessert. Orders must be placed by March 30. Call 708-403-1757 to order your package.

Grab an Easter Package from Winston’s Market in Tinley Park. Each package includes a spiral sliced ham, oven-roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, a vegetable medley and homemade rolls with butter. Each package costs $75 and serves 5. Call 708-633-7500 to reserve your package!

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant is offering a three-course Easter feast! Each package feeds 4 people for $119.99 (or $29.99 per person). Packages include pretzel bread and butter, Easter spring salad, smoked glazed ham, Mary’s potatoes, grilled broccoli and your choice of soy ginger salmon, braised short ribs, Dana’s parmesan-crusted chicken or parmesan-crusted medallions ($20 upcharge). Plus, don’t forget the ginger spiced carrot cake for dessert! Pair your meal with a bottle of Cooper’s Hawk Lux Pinot Noir or choose from their abundance of other options. Visit Salina’s Pizza in Tinley Park or Frankfort and pick-up your Easter Basket Feast Package! For $59, each package serves 4-6 people. Entrées include glazed ham and baked chicken. Pair your entrée with two sides of your choice, including bacon cheddar potatoes, Salina’s smashed potatoes, buttered parsley carrots, seasoned lime buttered corn cobettes or green bean casserole. Cog Hill Golf & Country Club will be serving Easter To-Go meals. Meals can be customized with different food options such as mixed greens salad, chicken piccata over angel hair pasta, smoked Polish sausage with sauerkraut, sliced baked ham, au gratin potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts or cheese tortellini with vodka sauce. Each menu item feeds 4-6 people. All orders over $100 will receive a complimentary bottle of wine! Jenny’s Steak House in Chicago Ridge will be open on Easter from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Diners can choose from a variety of Easter favorites, like rack of lamb or baked ham. Other tasty options include lobster tail, filet mignon, Atlantic salmon and more. Don’t forget the dessert! Jenny’s will be serving cheesecake, chocolate éclair cake and butter rum pecan cake. Enjoy “egg-cellent” meals, beers and snacks

Chuck’s Southern Comforts Cafe in Burbank will be open for dine-in on Easter from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Seating is by reservation only so call 708-229-8700 to reserve your spot! Adult meals will be $25.99, and kids’ meals will be $11.99. This three-course meal includes soup or salad to start, and an assortment of treats for dessert. Main courses include smoked salmon with mango salsa, smoked chicken, smoked ham with pineapple glaze and pulled pork (plus chicken tenders for the kids) with mac and cheese, roasted veggies and smashed potatoes on the side. Remember to make your reservation ASAP, as space is limited!

 

 

Head over to Ashford House Restaurant in Tinley Park to dine-in this Easter. Choose between spiral sliced ham ($15.95), roasted turkey ($15.95) or roasted lamb ($18.95). Each entrée is served with potatoes, stuffing, vegetables and soup. Call 708-633-7600 to make your reservations or pre-order carry-out.

Dine at Chicago Gaelic Park this Easter! Plated dinners will include cream of chicken soup, tossed salad, baked ham, roast beef, oven-browned potatoes and glazed baby carrots. Kids will love the macaroni and cheese served specially just for them! Plus, mint ice cream and carrot cake squares will be served for dessert. Don’t miss out on The Odyssey’s Easter Sunday Brunch! Choose from an expansive menu, including classic breakfast options such as Neapolitan waffles or caramel apple pancakes or try the citrus-cured salmon or caprese gnocchi. Plenty of desserts will also be available to enjoy. Adults can dine for $49.95, and kids can dine for $17.95. Reservations are required! Jenny’s Steak House in Chicago Ridge will be offering catering packages this Easter. Choose between two package options. Package #1 includes tasty treats like hickory ham and roasted chicken while Package #2 includes London broil and chicken tenders, plus more. Each package costs $120 and must be placed by April 2. “Hop to” these local events

This Easter, don’t forget to visit the Shrine of Christ’s Passion in St. John, Indiana. The Shrine features 40 life-size bronze sculptures depicting the last days of the life of Jesus Christ. On March 26, Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center in Olympia Fields will be hosting a Flashlight Egg Hunt for kids ages 3-10. Children can enjoy a craft project before heading out to the trails! All participants are guaranteed to find some treat-filled eggs. Registration is $12 for residents and $15 for non-residents. Kids will have a ball at “Pizza with Peter Rabbit” on March 27. Head over to the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center in Tinley Park for a pizza party with Peter Rabbit! Each child will be able to play games, take a photo with the Easter Bunny and receive a special treat for attending. This event has two time slots: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM or 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM. Head over to Lion’s Club Park in Homewood on March 27 for the Egg Scramble! Kids will love this fun egg hunt! Plus, after the scramble, participants are invited to take a socially distanced picture with the Easter Bunny. Please note that only one adult is allowed per participant and masks are required. Don’t forget to bring your basket! This event is free for residents and $2 for non-residents. Join Chicago Gaelic Park in Oak Forest on March 27 for their annual Easter Egg Hunt! The hunt begins at 1:00 PM. Click here for more information or call 708-687-9323. 

Families can enjoy the first-ever Egg-Stravaganza Swim on March 28 at the Tinley Fitness Pool in Tinley Park. Dive for eggs, win prizes and enjoy the egg-cellent Easter-themed pool from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. For more information, click here!

On March 31, have the whole family hop on down to the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center in Tinley Park for Easter Hoppenings! Participants can decorate Easter baskets, color eggs, play Bunny Bingo for prizes and enjoy an Easter snack. Registration is $14 per resident and $19 per non-resident. Lake Katherine Nature Center & Botanic Gardens in Palos Heights will be hosting a Spring Adventure Hike & Egg Hunt on April 1. Attendees can take a hike around Lake Katherine to discover the different baby animals that come out in spring. This tour will visit different stations that talk about spring animals and will end with an egg hunt. Masks are required and participants should bring their own baskets for the egg hunt. Join in Brookfield Zoo Chicago’s first ever Virtual 5K Spring Run/Walk! Get outdoors and enjoy the warm weather and glorious colors of spring. Best of all, you can choose the time and place to complete your 5K, any time from April 1 to May 30! Registration will open on April 1. Kids will love participating in the Mokena Chamber of Commerce’s Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt! Taking place on Saturday, April 3, kids can search for inflatable Easter eggs at any of the 20 participating chamber member locations. Once the location’s egg is found, kids will drop their raffle ticket into the bucket to be entered to win a prize! The cost to participate is $5 per child.
