Calumet City believes that public recreation spaces are an integral part of a happy, healthy community. Mayor Thaddeus Jones and the City Administration invite you to visit Blues Water Run when the first phase is finished in 2023. 

Blues Water Run will feature recreation amenities for endless family fun. This destination will draw visitors from the entire region and will become a major part of the economic development of the River Oaks area and of our community.

Among the park’s attractions will be a music venue, a multi-use path for walking and biking, and dog parks for large and small dogs. A future phase will offer a canoe and kayak launch on the Upper Little Calumet River. This portion of the Calumet River system leads downstream to a water trail of more than 10 miles to the confluence with the Cal-Sag Channel and continues to the Lower Little Calumet River, with the Beaubien Woods Boat Launch about 14 miles downstream.

When you are ready for a lunch break, you can stop for a picnic in the new amphitheater at Blues Water Run or eat in one of the many restaurants by River Oaks Mall.
