History has never been sweeter! From the earliest times, Native Americans and pioneers of the Midwest made syrup from the sweet sap of the maple tree. Drop in anytime from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn the process of making maple syrup. Find maple trees tapped on site and even try some real maple syrup. Throughout the day, sessions will take place on the history of maple syrup, the selection and tapping of trees, the gathering of sap, and the cooking of the sap to make syrup. Satisfy your maple syrup craving with a plate of fresh-off-the-skillet pancakes from the Crete Cadets. Wash them down with a warm, seasonal beverage from The Bean Wagon. The trees aren’t just giving sap, though. This expanded event will also feature Myles Nasby demonstrating his chainsaw art skills, opportunities to learn the art of wood burning and make a sweet craft and other games and activities! Plan to stay for 1½ hours to 2 hours for the full experience.
TIME: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
