The Village of Orland Hills received $2,100 for the Party in the Park Celebration while the Proud Lady Beauty Show, American Health & Beauty Aids Institute, was awarded $6,576 for its show at the Tinley Park Convention Center. These grants will be used to attract outside visitors, and their dollars, to the Chicago Southland region.

The Party In The Park Celebration will be held on Friday, June 29th through Sunday, July 1st at Kelly Park, located at 16675 S. Haven Avenue. The grant will be used to create an informal Website, and an event brochure for the upcoming event targeted to visitors outside the Chicago Southland region.

The Proud Lady Beauty Show is a national trade show for the beauty and barber industry and will take place at the Tinley Park Convention Center May 5-7, 2012. This event attracts approximately 5,000 people from the Midwest and Northeast. The grant will cover 60% of the costs to design and print their show brochure, which is sent to licensed beauty and barber professionals.

The Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau developed the Local Tourism Marketing Grant program in 1991, and since the programs inception has awarded over $850,000 in grants to assist not-for-profits and municipalities in promoting their events and attractions. Annually, the Bureau can award up to $46,000 in five grant cycles.
