Founded in 1995 by Dr. Lyn Hughes, NAPRPPM is the only one of its kind worldwide. The museum is located in the Pullman National Monument, Chicago’s first National Park site. Their mission is to promote, honor and celebrate the legacy of A. Philip Randolph, The Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters (AKA Pullman Porters) and their impact on the Great Migration, America’s Civil Rights Movement and the contributions made by African Americans to America's labor history.
