By car, attendees will love the mere five-hour drive from eight different states (Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin) with accessibility to six interstates (I-55, I-57, I-80, I-94, I-294, I-355).

WHAT’S NEW IN THE CHICAGO SOUTHLAND?

Opened in 2025, the Wind Creek Chicago Southland, the first AAA Diamond-rated casino in the state, is a 70,000-square-foot casino boasting a 12,000-square-foot conference and banquet facility plus 255 luxury and suite rooms for lodging. The casino holds over 1,400 cutting edge slot machines, 56 gaming tables, a state-of-the-art sportsbook, and poker room, entertainment, three restaurants, two bars, their Skyline Lounge, pool, fitness center, and spa.

Set to open in Spring 2026, the elegantly renovated Delta Hotels by Marriott Matteson—in partnership with dual property Fairfield Inn & Suites Matteson—has 199 rooms and eight meeting spaces with a total square footage of over 15,000. Its largest banquet room has 9,126 square feet with a capacity of 500 people.

MEETING FACILITIES

Hotels

The Chicago Southland has ten full-service hotels with up to 25,000 square feet of flexible banquet, conference, and meeting space. Also included are banquet halls, colleges/universities, expo centers, team building, onsite activity/entertainment options, and a variety of unique venues.

Full Service Hotels

In addition to the new Wind Creek Chicago Southland, there are several full service hotels throughout the area with both indoor and outdoor meeting spaces.

There are five full-service hotels in Bedford Park. The largest is the Marriott Chicago/Midway Airport with almost 6,000 square feet of meeting space and 200 guest rooms. This location has 7 different meeting rooms can host up to 375 reception and 260 banquet guests plus offers dining at the Copper Fox Gastropub and Starbucks.

The Doubletree by Hilton Chicago/Midway Airport has three meeting rooms with the largest 2,100 square feet. This 146-room property can host 136 reception and 120 banquet guests plus it offers room service from Coaches Sports Bar and Grill, offering the best burgers and craft beers in the area.

With 174 guest rooms, the Courtyard by Marriott Chicago/Midway Airport offers six event rooms accommodating up to 70 people (50 theater and 70 reception style) or 40 people in their banquet room. They also offer an outdoor meeting area. Enjoy daily food and drink specials at TGI Friday’s.

The Hilton Garden Inn Chicago/Midway Airport has four meeting rooms that can host 100 reception guests or 80 banquet attendees. This 174-room location offers room service from the Garden Grille & Bar which is open for breakfast and dinner.

Rounding out the full-service locations is the 148 guest rooms at the Hyatt Place Chicago/Midway Airport, which has three meeting spaces that can accommodate 100 reception guests and 72 banquet attendees. Guests love their Breakfast Bar, and the Starbucks expresso roast Expresso Bar.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago-Alsip can accommodate up to 600 guests, and also offers a beautiful outdoor courtyard that your attendees can utilize. In addition to its 193 hotel rooms, the DoubleTree comprises 13 different meeting rooms within its 15,000 square feet of total event space, any function is possible.

In Orland Hills, Georgios Banquets, Quality Inn & Suites Conference Center has 13 meeting rooms with over 25,000 square feet of versatile banquet, conference and meeting space enough to accommodate 1,200 guests. Georgios can accommodate up to 200 people outdoors in theater-style seating or 60 people classroom-style. The hotel occupies 149 guest rooms with 32 suites, a heated pool and spa, fully equipped fitness center, and an arcade room for the kids.

The Homewood Suites by Hilton/Elements by the Odyssey in Orland Park has 90 hotel rooms plus 6,500 square feet of unobstructed meeting space indoors. The Elements Ballroom can accommodate 400 guests, and a cozy outdoor courtyard that can be used for meetings as well.

Looking for an indoor, French motif? La Banque Hotel in Homewood is a stunning property. French for “the bank,” as it converted the former Bank of Homewood into 18 Parisian-inspired guest rooms, their intimate 700-square-feet meeting room, fitness center, and the fine-dining restaurant 69 Prime. The hotel is located just steps from the Homewood Metra and Amtrak station, making commuting to and from the city quick and easy. And if you prefer meeting on the links, La Banque will shuttle you to the Donald Ross designed Ravisloe Country Club which is seconds away. 

Select Service Hotels

The Chicago Southland has over 40 select service hotels sprawled throughout the region offering space for smaller gatherings including board meetings and staff retreats.

These properties offer essential amenities and reliable service without the extensive cost and complexity of larger conference hotels. This makes them attractive for planners working with diverse budgets and smaller events. Many select service hotels offer additional amenities including free continental breakfast.

Team Building Programs/Retreat Facilities

Chicago Southland is fortunate to have one of the few corporate teambuilding facilities in the Midwest. Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center in Olympia Fields is the ideal venue. Irons Oaks’ Corporate Reach Program brings professional facilitators together with management to establish specific objectives. Along with its 1,300-square-foot conference room plus 38-acres of team building atmosphere including a high ropes course, climbing walls and crate stacking, it is a fun, safe environment to take your group members to the next level of achievement and problem-solving. Irons Oaks staff is also available to present off-site for groups.
