Music To My Ears
Travel Inspiration
The Chicago Southland offers fans of all music genres the opportunity to experience perfect harmony all summer long! Strike a chord at these local music venues:
Top-name talent can be found at CD&ME in Frankfort throughout the summer and into the fall. Local entertainers as well as nationwide names perform at CD&ME! The 2024 season saw tributes to bands like The Rolling Stones, Queen and Fleetwood Mac, along with themed events such as boy band night, a Taylor Swift dance party and CD&ME’s annual craft beer festival, Brrrew Fest.
Centennial Park West in Orland Park recently underwent impressive renovations to accommodate live performances and special events. The venue’s new features include an open-air stage with 3,200 square feet of performance area, dedicated areas for food vendors and an improved lawn space for audience seating, allowing for full views of the stage. Past performers at Centennial Park West have included local favorites and nationally recognized artists, making this venue the perfect spot for a diverse lineup of talented acts.
Grammy award-winning artists are no strangers to the Country Club Hills Amphitheater in Country Club Hills! This open-air pavilion offers a fantastic variety of musical performances. Past artists include Will Downing, Anthony Hamilton and Chrisette Michele, just to name a few. Enjoy the venue’s flat-screen video monitors, top-tier sound system and LED video walls, which ensure that every concert is an immersive experience.
Every summer, Fox Pointe in Lansing presents a unique line up of performances by both local and national names alike. Talented tribute bands to legendary artists play throughout the season, along with original singer-songwriters and groups. Many concerts are free to attend, and food and drink are available for purchase inside the venue.
SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview hosts a diverse lineup of events, including two incredible music festivals. Known as the Midwest’s premier hip-hop music festival, the yearly Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash Festival features more than 50 artists and, in 2024, welcomed over 120,000 concertgoers. Past performers have included Chance the Rapper, Post Malone, Ice Spice and more. Plus, the North Coast Music Festival takes place annually over Labor Day weekend and features primarily EDM acts, such as 2024 headliners Subtronics and Illenium. Over 100 artists play across seven stages during this unforgettable three-day experience.
If you’re looking for something a little more “wild,” be sure to check out Brookfield Zoo Chicago’s annual Roaring Nights concert series. Big names of all genres have appeared at this annual event, and concerts frequently sell out, so be sure to check for the 2025 lineup! Plus, each ticket directly contributes to the care of the zoo’s animals, educational programming and global conservation efforts, making these shows feel-good experiences for all who attend.
