Sky's the Limit!
Travel Inspiration
The Chicago Southland will become an even bigger hoops hotbed in 2025.
The 2021 WNBA champion Chicago Sky broke ground last fall on a $38 million, 40,000-square-foot all-purpose training center adjacent to the Wintrust Sports Complex at Bedford Park (WinstustSportsComplexcom). The facility is expected to be complete by late 2025, just in time for the 2026 WNBA season. The team amenities will include multiple regulation-sized basketball courts, player lounges, a high-tech film room, a world-class training room, secure parking and even a private chef’s kitchen and beauty stations.
But that’s not all. The Wintrust Sports Complex is home to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and plans have been laid to expand the museum experience within the complex. The Hall of Fame honors the top high school, college and professional players that played their prep hoops in Illinois, along with coaches, officials, teams and others.
