The Crete Area Historical Society is preserving Crete's past. The Crete Area Historical Society and Museum and adjacent Crete Cemetery are listed on the National Park Service's Underground Railroad Network to Freedom as connected to the Underground Railroad. The museum is currently undergoing renovation and is not open to the public at this time.
