INDIAN BOUNDARY PRAIRIES
Gensburg-Markham, Dropseed, Paintbrush & Sundrop Prairies

The Indian Boundary Prairies are a collection of rare and biologically rich remnants of Illinois’ original prairie ecosystem jointly managed by The Nature Conservancy and Northeastern Illinois University. Home to over 250 native plant species, these protected sites offer critical habitat for wildflowers, pollinators, and migratory birds and serve as a place to connect both people to people and people to nature.
