high-end italian steakhouse now open at wind creek chicago southland

The Wind Creek Chicago Southland Casino & Resort, which opened last November, has expanded offerings in recent weeks, launching service in its hotel, spa and 17th floor Italian Steakhouse, Alto. 

Alto, which translates to “high” in Italian, is a concept by renowned celebrity chef, cookbook author, restaurateur and two-time alum of Bravo’s Top Chef, Fabio Viviani. Located on the top floor, it is a truly elevated experience, from the high-quality, scratch-made cuisine to the sweeping views of the Chicago Southland, overlooking the Thornton quarry and providing a panorama of the south suburbs and Chicago skyline. 

The menu includes premium steaks and Italian classics with a modern twist, hand-made pastas, fresh seafood, lamb chops, creative, premium cocktails and more. “It's approachable elegance with vibrant character—exactly what the Southland deserves,” said Viviani.

The experience is one you won’t find anywhere else in the Chicago Southland. Aside from stunning views, it’s unique dishes include wet-aged and dry-aged steak selections, 20-Month Prosciutto Di Parmi, Wagyu Meatballs, Spanish Octopus and Whole Maine Lobsters.

Viviani’s team also oversees additional service of the Food Bazaar Food Hall, which includes Shuck It, an oyster and seafood bar.
