HERE COMES THE EASTER BUNNY!

Spring is right around the corner - and that means the Easter Bunny will soon be visiting the Chicago Southland to make an appearance at breakfast, hide eggs and pose for photos. If you’re looking for some Easter fun to add to the calendar, here are some spots where you’ll be able to spot the bunny and have some springtime fun.

FLASHLIGHT EGG HUNT

This isn’t your typical egg hunt. This one requires a flashlight. Grab your basket and head into the woods for a nighttime hunt. Open to children ages 3 to 10. Hunt starts promptly at 7:30 p.m.

Don’t miss this carnival-style event for up to 50 participants every 45 minutes. Each child attending this free event will receive a bag of eggs that can be traded in to play games and prizes will be awarded at game stations. Each child will leave with a bag of goodies. Adults must stay. Don’t forget to have your camera for a picture with the Easter Bunny. Pre-registration required by March 24.

BREAKFAST WITH THE EASTER BUNNY

Bring the family out for a community breakfast of hot pancakes made by members of the Lansing Copper Muggers. Proceeds go toward the Lansing Chamber of Commerce’s Family Giving Program to help local families in need. Just $6 per person for your meal and a visit with the Easter Bunny.

Be there at 10 a.m. sharp and bring your own basket. The fields will be full of bright plastic eggs for scooping up and there will be special prizes inside.

Children will be divided into groups based on age for this outdoor egg hunt at Kennelly Park. It’s a free event, but you must pre-register. There’s also a pre-hunt Breakfast with the Bunny at Terrace Center. Pre-registration is required for breakfast, as well.

Children ages 9 and under (with a maximum of 2 adults) are invited for a special day of Easter magic at the Children’s Farm. See the resident animals and spring babies, collect and color an egg from the coop, make an Easter craft, visit the Easter Bunny’s Magic Forest, hunt for a colored egg and meet the Bunny himself. Advanced tickets are required.

Come out and join the Easter Bunny to search for eggs on the grounds of the Matteson Community Center. Kids can make their way around to find eggs with candy and prizes inside.

This is one egg hunt you won’t want to miss. A whopping 5,000 eggs are hidden for the search and the Monee Alliance of Churches donates baskets for the event.

This egg hunt is just for the grow-ups! Get some friends together for an evening of fun, games and adventure. You’ll find eggs filled with prizes hidden along the trails to be found, but you’ll need flashlight to find them. Everyone will go home with something - from local dining gift cards to chocolate to wine and other fun prizes. This event is for ages 21+ only.
