Put on Your Green and Join the Party at J. J. Kelley’s
By Carrie Steinweg published March 13, 2023
The St. Patrick’s Day festivities are under way at J. J. Kelley’s! The food and drink menu this week will include some Irish-inspired classics, like J. J. Kelley’s famous Reuben sandwiches with their house-made, hand-cut potato chips or fries. They’ll also offer a plate of three mini Reubens on their own buttered mini rye bread. Corned beef platters include cabbage, carrots, red potatoes, soup and Irish soda bread.
Try out some St. Patrick’s appetizers like Irish Fries (topped with nacho cheese, crumbled corned beef, sour cream and chives), Reuben flatbread (flatbread topped with corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese with Thousand Island on the side) and Irish Quesadillas (corned beef, sauerkraut and Thousand Island in a grilled tortilla served with jalapeño horseradish sauce).
On March 17, they’ll also add Shepherd’s Pie and an Irish Sampler Platter (corned beef platter with a side of Shepherd’s Pie).
Drink specials are on tap all week during the the St. Patty’s Day celebration and you can get your fill of Irish whisky and beer. There will be a limited time cocktail menu of specialty drinks to include Classic Irish Coffee, Emerald Isle Punch, the Lucky Leprechaun, Pot ‘O Gold Martini and Irish Eyes Margarita.
Reservations are recommended for Friday, March 17 when the Irish band St. James Gate will take the stage. There will also be strolling bagpipers making their way through the bar and the Clover Room.
They’re also having a second celebration that weekend in honor of St. Joseph Day on March 19. There will be a number of Italian dishes on the menu and local musician and singer Frank Rossi will be providing entertainment with sounds of Frank Sinatra and other crooners of that era. He takes the stage at 1 p.m. and there is a $5 cover charge. Reservations are recommended. For more information, follow J. J. Kelley’s on Facebook.
