Lansing, IL Jane Bushong was recently hired by the Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau as a Sales Executive focusing on SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious and Fraternal) markets. In her new position, Bushong will attract new meetings, conferences and reunions to the Chicago Southland generating overnight stays and associated visitor spending within the region.
Bushong has worked in various sales, event management and marketing positions around the Chicago Southland including Applied Systems in University Park, Ill., Will County Electric in Monee, Ill., and Life Storage in Matteson, Ill. A native of Monee, Ill., Bushong graduated from Governors State University in University Park, ill., with a B.A. in Business Administration.
There is so much that the Chicago Southland can offer to these niche groups whether its outstanding meeting space or unique attractions, said Bushong. The accessibility and affordability of the region, along with our excellent customer service help attract great business to the Chicago Southland.
Jane is a great addition to our already strong sales team, said President/CEO Jim Garrett of the Chicago Southland CVB, her drive and experience will help attract and close new SMERF business in the Chicago Southland.
The Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau is the official destination marketing organization for Chicagos 62 south and southwest suburbs. The CVB markets the Chicago Southland region as a leisure, group tour, sports event, meetings and conventions, destination.
