Our 2020 National Tourism Day Celebration
By Katie Arvia published May 07, 2020
This week, May 3-9, is National Travel and Tourism Week. The Chicago Southland CVB has been celebrating every day by sharing themed posts on our social media channels. Themes have included the great outdoors, arts & culture, a virtual road trip and Throwback Thursday. To celebrate NTTW, the CSCVB staff created a video of all of the things we are looking forward to enjoying again throughout the Chicago Southland. To watch our video, click here.
Because we are unable to celebrate with you this year and hold our annual National Tourism Day event, we are instead throwing it back to past NTD gatherings. We cannot wait to celebrate with you next year and, in the meantime, encourage you to check out our social media channels to continue celebrating NTTW this week.
Here are some photos from past NTD celebrations:
Now more than ever, it is important for Chicago Southland residents to become a “Tourist in Your Own Town.” When travel restrictions are lifted, many people will take staycations instead of traveling to new parts of the country. When the time is right, we can all become tourists in our own towns by finding new adventures to experience, right here in the Chicago Southland.
The CSCVB can provide all the resources needed to become a tourist in your own town. You can find travel inspirations, hotel accommodations, itineraries and more on our website, VisitChicagoSouthland.com. We also recommend frequently checking our social media channels, as we provide daily updates, and our Visitors Guide. Be sure to download our app as well to find additional information.
When you’re ready, we’re here.
